Adapter plate for connecting the VW 1.9 TDI / 1.8T engines to Mazda Miata MX-5 NB, NA gearboxes.

- 1.6i B6-ZE 1998–2005 81kW/110hp gearbox
- 1.8i BP-4W 1998–2000 103kW/140hp gearbox
- 1.8i BP-Z3 VVT 2001–2005 107kW/146hp gearbox
This adapter is designed to work with the original VW starter, VW flywheel, and VW pressure plate, utilizing a Miata clutch disc.
The adapter plate sets the engine-to-gearbox tilt at a 0-degree angle and features a repositioned starter, located higher within the bellhousing.
This design eliminates the need for any bellhousing modifications for starter nose and starter pinion clearance, while also providing additional space for large turbocharger installations
Please note that additional turbocharger modifications or upgrades may be required due to the engine tilt and positioning.

- VW/Audi starter 03G911023A + miata clutch disc + 050141117 228mm pressure plate + VW/Audi 026105269L single-mass flywheel
- VW/Audi starter 03G911023A + miata clutch disc + Valeo kit 835005 / 701790 single-mass flywheel (or equivalents: val835041, F1A078NX, ADV183076)
- 228mm dual-mass flywheel kit Valeo 837041 (or equivalents) + VW/Audi starter 03G911023A + miata clutch disc
The adapter is compatible with the following engines:
