Swap adapter for connecting VW 1.9 TDI/1.8T engines to Sportage mk1 2.0i FE gearbox. 

Note: The adapter positions the starter higher, closer to the engine head, allowing it to fit properly into the KIA bellhousing. As a result, one of the recommended starters will need to be upgraded. Additionally, upgrades to the turbo, exhaust and engine mounts may be required for certain engine codes.  It is not necessary to cut the gearbox bellhousing, as the starter fits nicely inside it. If you prefer to have the starter in the original VW position, simply contact us at info@jncswap.com.

Clutch:

  • The single-mass Valeo val835026 clutch kit (or equivalent brands like Ridex, Sachs, etc., which are aftermarket conversion kits for dual-mass flywheels),  a custom kia  240mm clutch disc in the middle and the 068911024H Audi/VW starter. The starter housing must be shortened by 10 mm, (look in vw tips section) and a 10 mm spacer must be installed between the crankshaft and the flywheel due to the adapter plate thickness.

 

  • Adapter is also compatible with 228mm VALEO 835041, ADV183076 single mass flywheel  kit and VW/Audi 03G911023A starter, custom kia 228mm clutch disc. This flywheel and starter are direct bolt on to the adapter plate and vw crankshaft.

 

  • Adapters is compatible with Vw/audi 03G911023A starter, vw/audi 026105269L one mass flywheel kia clutch disc and vw/audi 053 141 117 228mm pressure plate. This flywheel and starter are direct bolt on to the adapter plate and vw crankshaft.

 

  • The adapter is not compatible with the 228mm dual-mass flywheel kit Valeo 837041 or equivalents. If you are planning to use this specific flywheel model, please contact us at info@jncswap.com for custom adapter.
